Remember back in 2005, when the Music Publishers Association decided that posting guitar tabs on the Internet was illegal? Of course, that lawsuit went nowhere, and despite the closure of a few major websites, unlicensed tablature remains as ubiquitous as ever.

Well, just in case you were still nervous about using an unlawful service to learn how to play guitar, Q TV has enlisted a selection of indie musicians to provide guitar lessons in the form of YouTube clips. (Q, in this case, refers to the CBC radio program, not the UK magazine.)

The first musicians to offer up their techniques to 'How to' with Q are Sara Quin (Tegan & Sara), Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend), Adam Kittredge (Jets Overhead), Aaron Dessner (the National) and Sondre Lerche.

It's interesting viewing, although you probably won't learn too much from the "self-taught" Sara Quinn. Still, it's charming to watch her explain how bad she is at her instrument, saying "I don't know anything about the guitar, so maybe you should just watch. It's this chord." (It was a F#m, Sara.)

Her lesson of "Walking with the Ghost" is below, and you can check out the rest over at Q TV's YouTube channel.
